Many people find it challenging to trust. We aren’t typically taught to trust ourselves or others.
Therefore the world may seem like a scary and untrustworthy place. We will erase those challenges and open ourselves up to the freedom that trust brings. Before we can trust anyone or anything else we need to realize it’s ok to trust ourselves.
In Erik Erikson’s eight stages of psychosocial development, the foundational stage of human development deals with “basic trust.” This primary stage, addresses trust and mistrust of the
outer world, especially other people. Yet, underlying this mistrust of others is actually a lack of self-trust. Trusting our authentic selves are good enough, lovable enough and that we can thrive, even when we make mistakes.
We will focus the first 4 days of this series on transforming any mistrust into basic trust for
ourselves. Once this strong base of self-trust is established, we can branch out to trusting other people, places and situations. Now trusting ourselves, we then begin to trust the outside world. We can invite trustworthy people and experiences into our life, to build the life we
